THE LOTUS EFFECT
The inspiration is drawn from the lotus flower that symbolizes rising from a dark place into beauty and rebirth, as this is how a lotus exactly grows. Lotus grows directly out of muddy and murky waters and produce beautiful white blossoms. It is a symbol of strength among adversity. It is associated with purity, rebirth and divinity which has a calming effect when placed in the surroundings. Much of the beauty of this carpet design lies in using natural dye because of the slightly varying hues and shades obtained with indigo with its less impact on environment. The color blue indicates water and white lotus blossoming from it. The meditative and regenerating pattern of the design will bring peace and hope.

Tanya Bansal is an Indian fashion designer who works on contemporary and couture fashion. She is also a stylist, photographer and keen researcher on varied cultures. Her design philosophy is to integrate both traditional and modern worlds for the product to have a timeless appeal. Her work is focused on creating textile products that is modern, sophisticated and minimalistic. She attempts to make fashion more relevant by supporting clusters of craftspeople to have luxury of handmade items which is classic, eternal and generates more employment to support their families.
